We introduced a major update to the crossword creator: spaces in answers are now supported.
You can now build multi-word answers and choose how spaces behave:
1. Space as separator (dashed break)
In this mode, a space does not occupy a grid cell.
- letters are placed normally,
- word breaks are shown visually,
- answer length is calculated without spaces.
Use this if you want a classic crossword layout.
2. Space as a normal cell
In this mode, a space occupies a full cell.
- the break is stored as its own grid position,
- the cell is always visibly marked,
- answer length includes spaces.
Use this when you want an exact layout of full phrases.
Where to set it
In the creator info section, you will find:
- Answer space mode
Space as dashed separator (no cell)Space occupies a normal cell
What works after publishing
This is fully end-to-end:
- creator,
- solver (
SolveCrossword), - streamer mode.
So spacing behavior stays consistent everywhere.
Summary
This update gives much better control over multi-word answers, both visually and structurally.
