History
It was 2023. I was sitting in my room and – long story short – it wasn’t the best time in my life. While watching an episode of "śpimy" on YouTube, Arek and Dawid inspired me to create what you see now.
Back then I didn’t really know web technologies. At work I mostly use C# and T-SQL to build reports and extensions for Navireo, and the last time I did anything for the web was in high school.
When I took my first steps, I quickly hit a wall and felt that without solid foundations I was pushing uphill and would sooner or later have to rewrite everything. I wanted to avoid that.
So I put the crosswords on hold and started a side project that would let me gain experience. That’s how Kłamgur (see on YouTube) was born — a game/quiz show for @kaopej.
That’s how I learned to use Node.js and socket.io, which hosting and VPS providers to avoid, and I met wonderful people like @nelopomelo, who created this beautiful logo.
My Mission
After creating Kłamgur I started wondering if it even made sense to continue Knowie. My biggest motivation was my wife — I want to give her a better life than she has now — and my frustration with how public debate looks today.
We live in a time when, more often than not, the person who shouts louder wins, not the one who is right. I needed a place where everyone can find their own safe space — where, regardless of faith, race, sexual orientation, or gender identity, they are welcome and can simply relax with a crossword.
I want a place free from fake news and discrimination, because I believe everyone is equal. Let’s build a beautiful space together that raises the standard of how we talk to each other.
